Young V&A Game Design Table

This is one of the game design tables that Viviane Schwarz and Kevan Davis designed for the Young V&A in Bethnal Green in London, in 2023. It's a permanent part of the museum's Design gallery.

Using the basic snaddering process from our Board Games to Create and Play book, groups can quickly make up a board game about anything they can think of, just by picking a few rules and pieces from the trays, and adding some tiles to the printed boards. Some squares have text effects, others have pictures that players can choose a meaning for. Some of the rules encourage squares to be used as if they were tokens to collect, or cards to keep in your hand. Everybody has a pop-o-matic die to hand.

When everyone agrees that their game is ready, play begins!
